Jim soon himself his world blown wide open as he sets off on an adventure toward distant shores, but the seas are an unpredictable place and there are many secrets aboard the Hispaniola. Can the crew be trusted? Just who is Long John Silver and what awaits them all at the famed ‘Treasure Island?’
Exploring the complex themes of family, loss and greed, the AYC bring will bring to the stage an all-new adaptation of Robert Louis-Stevenson’s legendary tale of self-discovery, betrayal and pirates.
Following the success of the AYC’s ‘Frankenstein’ earlier this year, we are very excited to bring ‘Treasure Island’ to the stage and will be looking for a fantastic young performers age 12-18 to join our Young Company and form the cast of the show. Development will run from September 2019- April 2020, with a final performance taking place on Saturday 18th April 2020 for Easter. Cast will receive professional performer training during weekly rehearsals and shall explore the themes, characters and design of the show in depth.
