"Being part of Anthos for me meant everything. At the time I started, I was home ed due to problems with bullying at my old school. My confidence was a tad low, and I really needed something to focus on, something positive. When I came to the first rehearsal at Anthos, and I met the wonderful team involved, they were so lovely and friendly, but not just that, they were extremely knowledgable in the craft of theatre, and so willing to share there knowledge, and skills.

My confidence grew in that safe and nurturing enviroment, and i so looked forward to those weeky rehearsals!. But it did not end there, that lovely team helped me with my application to college to study drama full time, each and everyone of them gave up there own time to coach and inspire me, and they even provided me with a reference for my college application. All in all, this team restored my faith in people, they are an absolute inspiration and I cannot thank them enough for what they did for me."

Youth Theatre

Anthos Arts develops two Youth Theatre programmes per academic year. The programmes are open to anyone who lives in the South West and who has a passion for theatre, wants to develop confidence and make friends, work with professional artists, and have the opportunity to complete an Arts Award.

Performing physical theatre gives performers the opportunity to use and combine many techniques; to express themselves, not solely through acting or dance, but through a diverse range of art forms.

Creating the performance, Anthos will guide the group through:

1. Acting and Improvisation

2. Physical Theatre and Dance

3. Musical Expertise

4. Social Engaged Arts

5. Performing in a professional arts venue
