Anthos Arts' Chameleon's Group is weekly Drama workshop for ages 6-11 that runs on a Saturday morning. Participants receive professional performer training, including acting, physical theatre, puppetry and storytelling in a fun, engaging environment. Each term we will have a different theme or story to work from, which we will explore through the magic of storytelling.
The group will work as a cast to create material for a final showcase for family and friends at the end of term, this will often take the form of whichever story we are studying. Sometimes the Chameleons will devise their final performance and sometimes they will work from a script. Our focus every term is to challenge them in new and exciting ways and help produce work of a high standard. The Anthos team are dedicated to providing a creative and supportive space for our Chameleons to create their work.
Our previous projects have included 'Theseus and the Minotaur,' 'The Legend of King Arthur,' 'The Princess and the Goblins', 'Alice in Wonderland,'The Three Musketeers,' and 'The Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe.' How to get involved?
Applications for each Chameleon Group term open a week after the end of the previous one. Information on what the next project will be can be found under the 'Current Projects' section of our website. In order to keep things fair, we do not carry over a register from term to term. All parents must submit an application form for each term, to enable newcomers to take part in the group as well.
Application forms will be available on the project's specific page, also found under the 'Current Projects' section. Please note that spaces are limited and are given on a first come, first serve basis. If you have any questions about joining the Chameleon Group, then please do get in touch.
In light of the COVID-19 pandemic we have revised our approach to teaching sessions, in accordance with the guidelines for out-of-school clubs issued by the Department of Education. For a full breakdown of how we are incorporating social distancing in our sessions, please click here to view our guidelines page.
Where sessions are cancelled due to a local or national lockdown, or rehearsals are not able to take place, we will offer a full refund to parents. Where possible, any cancelled performances will be rescheduled.
